Fresh off the release of Episode Prompto, its trailer came out revealing that the forthcoming Episode Ignis of Final Fantasy XV is due for December 2017 release. As promised, Square Enix will make Ignis Scientia a playable character with his own episode.

Square Enix has made no other details, however, of what is to come for the next Final Fantasy XV episode other than the release date. Episode Prompto release, meanwhile, kicks off in Australia today to be followed in North America and Europe tomorrow. Season Pass holders can get this downloadable content (DLC) for free while non-holders for US$4.99 only.

As of now, no announcement has been made regarding the Multiplayer Expansion: Comrades DLC. The multiplayer mode of this content will only be accessible with a PlayStation Plus membership.

In the meantime, the heavy Update 1.12 has just been rolled out: 10.96 gigabytes on Xbox One and 8.65 gigabytes on PlayStation 4. Bringing along with it is the Regalia Type-D truck and an off-road trail which has been much-requested since launch.

Regalia Type-D rocks knobby tires, Rad Exhaust pipes, and a sterling suspension, making it look like a monster off-the-road trucker vehicle. Players can get this vehicle from Cindy at Hammerhead.

In another Final Fantasy XV news, Square Enix has confirmed via E3 2017 recap Active Time Report live stream that it is preparing for some big announcements for the game which will be dropped at Gamescom 2017 in August.

"We held back a bit of information during E3. We are preparing with high praise to do all sorts of things on a large scale this summer", says Square Enix marketing manager Akio Ofuji.

Game director Hajime Tabata echoed him, saying, "That's right. We've been extremely busy. We have to be sure to have some good announcements in the summer".
