On one side an array of enthralling dramas are ending its run, and on the other end a slew of new dramas are coming up. IBTimes Singapore has narrowed down the five must-watch K-dramas this April.
1. Chicago Typewriter
Cast: Yoo Ah In, Im Soo Jung, Go Kyung Pyo
It looks like a promising and intriguing drama set parallel in two timelines. With one being about writers who lived in the 1930's Japanese occupation of Korea, and their reincarnated into the present era as a bestselling writer (Yoo Ah In), a ghostwriter (Go Kyung Pyo), and an anti-fan (Im Soo Jung).
Chicago Typewriter is aired every Friday and Saturday at 20:00 (KST) on tvN.
2. Man to Man
Cast: Park Hae-jin, Park Sung-woong, Kim Min-jung, Chae Jung-an and Yeon Jung-hoon.
A well-known actor Yeo Woon-gwang (Park Sung-woong), who majorly plays villainous roles, hires the mysterious Kim Seol-woo (Park Hae-jin), a man trained in special investigations, as his bodyguard. Though the star is well-loved by his fans, he has a darker side. As the mysteries unfold, the star and his bodyguard encounter a budding bromance.
Man to Man is scheduled to premiere April 21 on JTBC.
3. My Secret Romance
Cast: Sung Hoon and Song Ji Eun
After a series of misunderstanding and meetings at a Jeju resort, Jin-wook and Yoo-mi falls for each other's charm and unexpectedly spend the night together. However, in the morning, Yoo-mi regrets her decision and leave abruptly. Three years later, the two meet again but this time as coworkers.
My Secret Romance is scheduled to premiere April 17 on OCN.
4. Radiant Office
Cast: Ha Suk Jin and Go Ah Sung
After Chief Kim, here is another drama that gives us a slice of a corporate work environment. The drama narrates the story of a marketing director (Ha Suk Jin) and a rookie (Go Ah Sung), who often faces rejections in interviews. And eventually, they end up becoming a bickering pair.
Radiant Office is aired every Wednesday and Thursday at 22:00 (KST) on MBC.
5. Tunnel
Cast: Choi Jin-hyuk, Yoon Hyun-min and Lee Yoo-young
With time travel as the backdrop, Tunnel narrates the story of a detective Choi Jin Hyuk, who travels back from 1980's to solve a crime. Assisting him in the case is the sharp-headed, skillful Yoon Hyun Min.
Tunnel is aired every Saturday and Sunday at 22:00 (KST) on OCN.
