Well known for her lead role as Inspector Elaine Tay in Media corp Channel 5 cop drama 'Triple Nine' Wong Li Linn, vows to keep the city clean, by taking up the new job of Public Hygienic Council(PHC), which is the part of National Environment Agency.
Ms. Wong was picked up by the PHC group through her professional network around January 2017 and took up the job when the committee members vouched for the actress to take up the job when the former was working with Thomas Medical Group.
It's been five weeks since Wong took up the Job as a Public servant, and has many goals set up for her role among which streaming and simplifying the process for cleanups on the island along with creating one-stop online portal for organizations like companies or societies can access and view the areas in Singapore available for cleanups.
She also wants to set up the shared pool of cleaning tools so that groups will not have to buy them for one time use for their cleanup activities. Before that, the former actress plans to organize public cleanups at beaches with the PHC, who had received around 20 to 30 requests to clean up every month.
"From the policy-maker's standpoint, regulation is put in place to keep Singapore clean. But there has to be a connecting point on the ground with the community, to be able to nudge and shift behavior in that direction," she told The Straits Time.
Wong Li Lin is also known by her stage name Li Lin. She is also a ballerina dancer and a host and has acted in many popular TV dramas like 'Love Me', 'Love Me Not' and also acted in the movie 'The Leap Years' and 'Ananada Everingham'.
Although she has taken up her new role as a public servant, people still look up to her as an actress from the drama and take her pictures.
