Chinese singer Hua Chenyu and Honk Kong-based pop diva G.E.M Tang have denied the rumours of them being involved in a romantic relationship. Reportedly, the news of them dating came to light when the duo was seen holding hands earlier this year.
As per reports carried by Xinhua, Hua Chenyu and G.E.M, who attended the 23rd Oriental Billboard Awards in Shanghai on 28 March, arrived separately at the event. When asked about their alleged relationship, the duo denied the rumours stating that they both are friends and nothing more than that.
"The two of us are not in love. It's not what you think. The relationship is purely platonic."
"I hope that you will just enjoy our music. It's quite embarrassing for me if you keep insisting about it," Hua revealed in the interview.
When asked about his future collaboration with the famous Pop Diva, the 25-year-old added: "We do have plans to collaborate. When we were photographed by the paparazzi the previous time, we were actually discussing the collaboration."
Singer-songwriter G.E.M, whose real name is Gloria Tang Tsz-kei, chose not to speak much on the rumour and signed off by saying that she firmly agrees to what Hua has said.
"He's agreeable [to being interviewed], so ask him" , the 24-year-old revealed, who won the Most Popular Hong Kong Artiste and Most Popular Asian Artiste awards that night.
