Samsung has finally started rolling out the highly-anticipated Android 7.0 Nougat over-the-air (OTA) update for its flagship Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge handsets in the UK, following its recent Nougat rollout in Canada.
This should come in as a welcome change to non-Google and non-Nexus devices as the latest Android O Developer Preview release is exclusive to Nexus and Pixel devices.
The new Android 7.0 OTA firmware carries the build number G935FXXU1DQCG, which is exclusive to S7 and S7 Edge users on EE network in the UK. There is still no word on when the new update will be rolling out for these handsets in other countries across the globe.
Nevertheless, those who wish to experience multi-window support along with a bunch of performance improvements and bug fixes, may go ahead and install the latest Nougat OTA firmware by navigating to Settings > About device > System updates.
Users are advised to connect to a stable Wi-Fi-based internet connection instead of 3G or 4G in order to complete the OTA download without any hassles. It is recommended to backup user-sensitive data to prevent unexpected data loss during the firmware installation.
The Nougat OTA update for the Galaxy flagships is currently available in Europe and South Asian countries including India, Russia, China, France, Malaysia, South Korea, UAE, Middle East and UK.
