Galaxy S8 is just a few days away from its official launch while the internet is abuzz with news of Galaxy S8 being compared with iPhone 7 Plus in various drop-tests and real-world speed-test comparisons. Folks at EverythingApplePro have managed to grab a demo piece of the new Galaxy S8 hardware and pit it against Apple's latest flagship in a series of real-world comparison tests.
The test involves the process of launching multiple apps at once and one after another in two separate tests to benchmark individual device performance across multi-thread and single-thread heavy-duty tasks. The load time for each app has been recorded using a stopwatch to determine the handset with the fastest processing time and the best multitasking performance.
The tests basically help determine how the device would perform while running processor-intensive tasks or apps, besides their multitasking capability (recalling apps from memory). Although the benchmark results in the 10-minute long video seem to favour the iPhone, the Galaxy S8 held its own while outplaying the iPhone in the single-threaded gaming-app launch test wherein one app would be launched after another.
The S8, however, failed to match the iPhone 7 Plus in multi-threaded gaming-app launch test wherein multiple large games would be launched in quick succession. Consequently, it is very clear that the iPhone 7 Plus is still your best bet at multitasking while the Galaxy S8 stands out in single-threaded tasks.
