It has been a week since the popular Korean drama 'Goblin' aired its finale but the tvN drama's original soundtrack (OST) is still ruling the music charts. The data is based on the ratings as of January 26, as cited by Bitbag.
Reportedly, the songs featured in the hit series, Ailee's "I Will Go to You Like the First Snow" are still on the number one spot of different countdowns which include tallies from Naver Music, Melon, Monkey3, Bugs, Genie and Soribada.
According to the reports, the said track topped the charts as soon as it was released. In fact, other tracks from the Goblin OST are also maintaining top positions on the countdowns.
Not only the soundtracks, the ratings of the show went high enough to break the record of Reply 1988, which previously held the highest cable drama viewership record. Soompi reported that the final episode of the drama gathered a viewership share of 20.5 percent.
The drama's star studded cast, captivating storyline and amazing chemistry of the lead actors kept the viewers hooked. Fans praised the graphics and special effects of the show as well. Well, the show runners too made a lot of effort to make sure that the ending of the story doesn't leak out. For that, even the stars were handed partial scripts which included only the part they were supposed to play.
However, Gong Yoo fans believe it's him who made the tvN drama such a huge hit. The actor also starred in the zombie film' Train to Busan' before the premiere of the fantasy drama.
In other news, by using the popularity of the show unofficial foreign Goblin merchandise sites popped up to make some illegal profits. They are selling counterfeit postcards, photos, mugs, customized t-shirts and other stuffs with Goblin scenes or characters printed on them. They even forged autographs of Gong Yoo and selling them at very high prices.
