The popularity of the tvN drama Goblin increased to such a very high level that the lead star of the show Gong Yoo was invited to more than 10 countries to hold fan meeting events. The South Korean actor gained worldwide fame after the successful run of the show.
A representative from entertainment company Management SOOP revealed that Gong was invited to meet his fans in several Asian countries like Hong Kong, China, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, as well as in Australia and also the U.S., Korea Herald stated.
Reportedly, the event organizers are even trying to allure the actor by offering attractive compensation package as well as special perks in the hope that the actor will accept the proposal of the fan meeting.
However, it is not yet know if the actor has accepted any of the offers. Gong Yoo is completely busy, and possibly be only available by March end for any such fan events and international promotions, according to Management SOOP.
Apart from Goblin, Gong's popularity in South Korea as well as in other countries increased since the success of his global hit zombie thriller movie Train to Busan, and also the highly-acclaimed film Age of Shadows.
