Moon Hee Jun of H.O.T and Crayon Pop's Soyul are the latest celebrity couple in town. The duo will tie the knot in February 2017.
The pair reportedly started dating in April, and after a lot of thought, took the decision to get married. The 38-year-old artist announced his wedding plans in a handwritten letter to his fans.
He wrote: "I'm an adult, but writing this, I feel like I've really become an adult. [My fans], I'm going to marry. It's another thing that's changed between us, but for me, you know that you're always first and you're precious to me, right?"
The 25-year-old girl group member also posted a message on Crayon Pop's fan café. She stated: "You might be surprised but...I feel like my fans are the first ones I should be telling this to since they are the ones who give me the most strength, this is why I am writing this. I'm very nervous right now as well but..I've met somebody who loves me and holds me dear and we will be marrying. It's very sudden but this is a choice in my life I've pondered a lot. I hope you guys could support me and bless us. The marriage won't be the end, I'll continue to be here for you guys and I will come back as a better Soyul in order to return the love I have received all these years back!"
Jun and Soyul's agencies confirmed reports of their engagement. The statement read: "They will be holding a ceremony in February of next year."
Jun's former H.O.T band mate, Kangta was surprised by the wedding news. During an episode of his MBC radio show Kangta's Starry Night, he said: "A lot of people are talking about Moon Hee Jun's marriage news. I can't just stay quiet about it, but I never dreamed this would happen. I didn't even know they were dating, let alone getting married. Personally, I am very happy for the couple."
He added: "They look good together even though they have a senior-junior relationship. So this is how the first idol couple is born. It feels like I'm sending him off and it's a little strange."
"He sent me a message about the marriage earlier. I think he was really worried about it. We're planning to get together soon so I can congratulate him in person. Since I'm the lead vocalist, I will sing the wedding song if he wants me to," Kangta continued.
