Hollywood actress, Anne Hathaway revealed that she wants to go to Korea soon, especially after filming Colossal in Seoul and Bucheon. In a recent interview by Kevin Oh on KBS's entertainment news program Entertainment Weekly, the 34-year-old actress revealed that she has plans to visit Korea soon and meet her fans.
Hathaway's upcoming film Colossal is a comedic sci-fi movie and is filmed in Seoul. The offbeat comedy movie Colossal brings out the unique story of a woman who develops a psychic connection with a giant monster rampaging through Seoul, South Korea.
In the interview, Kevin asked the director of the film Nacho Vigalondo as to why they thought of keeping the base of the film in Seoul and Bucheon. The director of the film explained that he was confident about Seoul and Bucheon because he was invited to the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and he absolutely loved the experience.
Anne Hathaway added saying that she loved the location of the film backdrop especially because of the symbolism as well as the literal meaning behind the city "Seoul" as its homophone is "soul".
According to Koreaboo, Anne Hathaway explained, "I was so thrilled when I read that because I thought it was so clever on another level because, 'Seoul' being a place, but also in a movie that's about the metaphysical, to have a place called 'Soul' that you were trashing. As an English speaker, it resonated with me on that."
The actress was then asked if she plans to visit Korea, to which she said that she is planning something but kept the details a secret. The film also stars Jason Sudeikis and Dan Stevens.
The connection between the monster and Hathaway's character Gloria is allegedly bizarre and hilarious. And, the connection of the lead actress with the rampaging monster is one of craziest twists.
