Home United host Balestier Khalsa in their seventh match of 2017 S.League season at the Bishan Stadium on Tuesday.
The Protectors will look to extend their unbeaten streak to seven matches in the ongoing season and look to finish on a high as the league will break for Sultan of Selangor's Cup, starting 6 May.
Aidil Sharin's men head into Tuesday's match on the back of a 3-0 win over Geylang International last Friday whereas Balestier lost their last league match against Hougang United on the road on Thursday.
Despite being unbeaten, Home would have rued letting go of two points each in their draws against leaders Albirex Niigata and Warriors FC even after being in the front on both occasions. Two wins and two draws in April saw the Protectors slip behind Tampines Rovers to third spot in the league table, but with a game in hand over the Stags, the hosts will be eyeing to regain the second spot with a win tomorrow.
Having beaten the Tigers 5-0 in their last league meeting, Home are well-placed to clinch three full points today. The onus will once again be on Stipe Plazibat to deliver for them as the Croatian forward has set the league on fire with 11 goals from six games so far.
Geylang had quite a few opportunities to take the lead on Friday, but Home held their nerves and a late first-half strike from Song-Ui Young put them in front, after which Plazibat and Mohammad Kamal scored from the spot to seal the win.
Balestier will have to work hard and coach Marko Kraljevic knows his team have an uphill task ahead of them later today. The Tigers have scored only four goals this season, 12 less than what Home have managed and with the likes of Shamil Sharif, Camara and Hassan Sunny part of the hosts backline, Home will start the match as clear favourites.
