One of the most popular political television series, "House of Cards" is all set to start its season 5. Though details of the upcoming season are not unveiled officially but fan theories are already trending on the social media. The premiere date of season 5 was announced on the President Donald Trump's inauguration day and according to the rumours, the upcoming season will draw many similarities with the current situation of United States.
According to Deadline, Michael Kelly who is starred as Doug Stamper on the said series confirmed that some of the characters will die in the new season. He stated, "You lose characters that you love. We almost lost Frank, and I always have faith in the writers that no matter what road we go down, we're going to come back to what the show is."
Fans started speculating, Frank Underwood could b one of them as his health is known to be deteriorating or whether it will be Claire Underwood (Robin Wright).
Well, since no official statements have been made about it yet, fans may have to wait till the season 5 gets released.
A major creativity shift has been made in the House of Cards season 5, as the show creator Beau Willimon left as showrunner, last year. For the fifth instalment, senior writers Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese would be the co-showrunners for the show.
According to the reports, two new members,Patricia Clarkson and Campbell Scott will be joining the cast in the upcoming season. Though the characters of the two new casts is not yet revealed. In addition to this, it has been reported that Mahershala Ali will not reprise his role as the former White House Chief of Staff under President Underwood.
House of Cards will be returning to Netflix for its fifth Season on May 30.
