Avid fans of iOS jailbreak are in for some good news as CoolStar has just released the one-click Semi-Restore tool for restoring your device back to iOS 9.0.2 or 9.1 without losing jailbreak. Besides, the new version of Semi-Restore is now compatible with all jailbroken iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch devices running iOS 5.0 through iOS 9.1.
In other words, users who would like to restore their iOS 9.0.2 or iOS 9.1 devices to factory settings or stock-like setup can use Semi-Restore to achieve this feat without losing existing jailbreak on their devices.
The Semi-Restore tool works similar to the Cydia Impactor by Saurik while the former preserves the jailbreak unlike the latter. Given the extended delay in the release of public jailbreak tools for iOS 9.2 and above, it is a safe bet to restore your device to earlier versions of iOS 9 such as iOS 9.0.2 and iOS 9.1 which are still jailbreakable.
Alternatively, users might choose to remain on their existing jailbreaks as Semi-Restore preserves all existing jailbreak functions and rooting abilities for the device being restored.
