Korean stars Hyun Bin and Kang Sora have parted ways after being in a relationship for a year.
"Because both tend to have few words, they are reluctant to mention each other during official situations. However, both stars already confessed to those around them that they have parted ways," a source said, according to Korean news media.
The two went public with their relationship in December last year after meeting two months earlier.
Plum Actors, Kang Sora's agency, confirmed the breakup, saying, "We have checked with Kang Sora and she has confirmed that she and Hyun Bin ended their relationship recently."
"We have confirmed that Hyun Bin and Kang Sora recently broke up after drifting apart due to their busy schedules. They ended the relationship on good terms and will continue to support each other as fellow actors," announced VAST Entertainment, the actor's agency.
Hyun Bin shot to stardom via the drama "My Name is Kim Sam Soon" in 2005. His recent movies include "Confidential Assignment" and "The Swindlers."
"Becoming a star isn't something that happens because it's wanted. It's something given like a gift, so I'm grateful for it," he recently said. "Young actors are actively working. They'll continue to increase... So I always believe that going down is the next step."
He added, "When it comes to going down, I think about how to step down well rather than how to climb back again."
His aim is to play a villain or bodyguard role, saying "I've been thinking of it since I was filming MBC's 'Island.' I want to play the part of a bodyguard again when I'm older. This is because I think the role of a bodyguard could give off different vibes when I become older in the future. I've thought since I was young that it was an interesting job."
