Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho feels sorry for Arsenal fans, according to the Gunners fan Piers Morgan.
The incident took place when the host of Good Morning Britain and the former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager clashed unexpectedly, while the two were shopping separately at Harrods.
Arsenal suffered a disappointing start to the campaign, which saw they lose to Stoke City and suffer a humiliating 4-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool. However, they have bounced back with a 3-0 victory over AFC Bournemouth on 9 September.
Mourinho and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger have not shared a very good relationship on and off the pitch. The Frenchman, who considered leaving the Emirates at the end of the last season, signed a two-year extension with the north London club.
Morgan has been voicing his frustration on social media over the years, that Arsenal should part ways with Wenger. However, Mourinho remains hopeful that the Gunners manager could continue his managerial career for a "long time."
"I feel so sorry for you Arsenal fans," said Mourinho, as mentioned by Morgan in the Daily Mail.
"I [Mourinho] have some very good friends who love Arsenal like you do and they are just as depressed as you about the club. They suffer so badly, it is a terrible thing to observe.'
"How the hell is Arsene Wenger still in his job?" Morgan asked.
"No idea,' Mourinho smirked, 'but I hope he stays in it for a very long time..."
