A 25-year-old female software engineer working with multinational corporation Infosys was found dead at her workstation in Pune city in western India. The victim identified as K Rasila Raju, who hailed from southern Kerala state, dropped by the office on Sunday for some project work. It is alleged that she was strangulated with a computer wire on the ninth floor of the Infosys building.
According to media reports, police have arrested a 26-year-old security guard, who hails from India's Northeastern state of Assam on Monday in connection with the murder. "He is currently being brought to Pune," said senior police inspector Arun Waikar, according to Hindustan Times.

The office also said that Rasila's supervisor asked someone in the office to check on her after he was unable to get through to her over phone. "When her colleagues came to her workstation, they found her lying on the floor with a computer wire around her neck," said Waikar. Currently, police are working on some crucial leads after going through CCTvV footages.
Meanwhile, the post-mortem had been postponed and the authorities are waiting for the victim's family to reach Pune. Infosys extended condolences to the grieving family. "We are deeply saddened & shocked by the tragedy at Pune DC. Our hearts go out to our colleague's family in this time of grief," the tech giant tweeted.
