New mobile network operator Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited offers a money-saving buyback for Indians on iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X in a bid to draw new customers and improve Apple's sales performance in India.
Reliance Jio makes an unflinching decision to offer its customers the latest Apple devices for as low as INR799 (US$12.22) per month in 12 months. As announced on Friday, customers can avail of their 70 percent rebate for iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X bought from the network after one year.

According to Reliance Chairman's son Akash Ambani, this is the first time that an Indian carrier offers this one-year buyback strategy. Reliance Jio's bold move is expected to improve the market share of Apple smartphones in India where Apple devices are more expensive than international markets.
The California-based iPhone maker has been eyeing India, pouring in extra efforts to promote its products in the country as one of the fastest-growing smartphone markets in the world. Through Reliance Jio, the network could well help bridge the gap between Apple and the spending population of India.
In a brief video shown at the new offer's launch event, Apple chief executive Tim Cook has expressed his excitement in building new relationships in the country.
The iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X will be available in all Reliance Jio retail stores in 900 cities across India. Business Standard reports the partnership of Reliance Jio and Apple is expected to boost the latter's share in the country by mere 3 percent, closing the gap between Apple and Samsung Electronics, the biggest smartphone vendor in India.
