India's kart racer schoolboy Ruhaan Alva to make his debut at World Rotax Max

The event will be hosted at Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimao, Portugal from November 4 to 11

A schoolboy named Ruhaan Alva from India is set to make his debut in World Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals. The event will be hosted at Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimao, Portugal from November 4 to 11.

In the sporting event, there will be 360 competitors from 60 countries. Ruhaan will be one of the participants in this professional kart racing series. The Rotax MAX Challenge (RMC) is owned and organized by BRP and Rotax kart engine distributors.

The 11-year-old Ruhaan, who is a Bengaluru resident, finished third in Easykart series in Italy recently. He has received the entry to the 125 Micro Max category which will include 36 drivers. All the participants in this category have qualified after participating their respective National Rotax Max championships or international Rotax Max series.

However, the Italian manufacturer Birel Art, Play Factory and Sona Miller will be Ruhaan's sponsors. The practice session is scheduled on 6 and 7 November, after completing all the formalities.

On 8 November, Wednesday the qualifying sessions will commence. The qualifiers will include three rounds of heats on 9 November, Thursday, followed by the pre-finals on 10 November, Friday and the final qualifier on 11 November, Saturday.

"I had a good season in Italy though it was very tough because I switched to a higher and more competitive Easykart 60 category after the first round in the Mini class which I won," Ruhaan said.
