Kang Gary cancelled his first concert scheduled in Malaysia. The confirmation came from the event production company Ace Music Production through their Facebook post. The announcement stated, "We regretfully inform you that Gary's 1st Concert in Malaysia scheduled for May 21st has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances."
They further added saying, "To all the waiting fans and affected parties, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment this has caused you all." They also promise a refund and will process it as soon as possible.
They concluded by adding, "We thank you for understanding and apologize again for the cancellation of Gary's 1st Concert in Malaysia 2017. We hope to meet you see you again under better circumstances."
The reason was not initially known which led to rumours stating that Gary may have had to cancel the concert because of his sudden marriage. Also, the cancellation was linked to the disbandment of Gil and Gary as Korea Portal reported, "The cancellation of Gary's 1st Concert in Malaysia comes on the heels of the reported disbandment of music duo Gil and Gary who make up Leessang. The rumors of disbandment proliferated after it was reported that Leessang, the label established by the duo have closed shop."
However, Gary's agency recently clarified the confusion and revealed the actual reason behind the cancellation of his concert in Malaysia.
According to Soompi, a source from Gary's agency explained, "Gary's concert in Malaysia was canceled because the production company on that side did not send us the contract fee. We had confirmed the concert in early-March, but they continued to push back the payment, so unfortunately, we had to cancel the show. Gary's sudden marriage is unrelated to the cancelation of the concert."
