Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan has welcomed her first child with husband Saif Ali Khan. The couple are now proud parents to a baby boy.
The couple released a statement following the birth of their child. It read: "We are very pleased to share with you all the wonderful news about the birth of our son : Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi, on the 20th of December 2016. We would like to thank the media for the understanding and support they have given us over the last 9 months, and of course especially our fans and well wishers for their continued affection. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you all...With love, Saif and Kareena."
Previously, the 35-year-old actress revealed that Saif wants to name their child Saifeena, a term coined by the media. In an episode of Vogue BFFs, Kareena admitted that Saif is very fond of the new phase in their life. She said: "Saif said, 'I love you more pregnant. I think you should just continuously be pregnant'. Saif finds the name Saifeena really funny. He says we'll name our child Saifeena."
Meanwhile, in July, Saif had confirmed that he and Kareena are expecting their first child this year end. He said in a statement: "My wife and I would like to announce that we are expecting our first child in December. We would like to thank our well wishers for their blessings and support and also the press for their discretion and patience."
Saif has two children from his first marriage to Amrita Singh, Sara and Ibrahim.
