Keaton Jones, the Tennesse boy who spoke up against those who bully him in an emotional Facebook video posted on Friday had gained massive support from known celebrities like Chris Evans, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and more after the post.
The emotive outpour of Keaton in the video, posted by mother Kimberly has been viewed by more than 21 million viewers and many celebrities have even reached out on social media in support of the boy.
However a day after the event, a new information stating that Kimberly, mother of Keaton was just trying to make money from her son's plight surfaced.
This news went viral after MMA fighter Joe Schilling posted a video on Instagram saying, "Go look at her watch her story posts she just running a money scam. Really really sad and disgusting. Tagging celebrities trying to get them to donate to her go fund me account smfh.@kimberlyjones_38 @danawhite@gracegracieworld @snoopdogg @plies
He also lashes out angrily saying," WELL WELL WELL AS YOU ALL KNOW I FU**ING HATE RACISIM TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT SOMEONE CLAIMING TO BE KEATON's MOM HAD TO SAY F*** THIS BITCH!! Now this might be a fake account pretending to be his mom. But this person who is doing the go fund me account needs to be put on blast," addressing to @kimberlyjones_38 ."
However, the earlier two posts were removed later.
He later posted another saying, "Look, there is a lot of stuff going on. We all were moved by the video of a kid dealing with being bullied. We all felt some type of way and wanted to help him. If you really care about kids dealing with this crap and want to donate I suggest donating to this Organization. They are a legit 501c3. #stopbullying#weallinthisshittogether "
In response to this, a girl named Lakyn Jones claiming to be Keaton's sister took to Twitter in defense saying,"The Instagram KimberlyJones_38 is NOT my mom. She has a private Instagram and hasn't talked to anyone. We haven't received any money and don't plan on it. The gofundme's [sic] aren't by any of us."
She further said, "Those who know me and my family know we aren't racist. My brother doesn't say the "N" word. Please leave it alone."
Kimberly told Fox News that his allegations are 'untrue' and stated in an Instagram direct message," I did not tell him that I would rather have donations instead of the help from celebrities."
A GoFundMe page which was created for Keaton and received nearly $60,000 has been shut down and is no longer accepting donations.
The fund page says it needs to contact Kimberly Jones, to make sure that she's the benefactor as the man who started it doesn't know her.
According to TMZ, a second GOFundMe page reportedly handled by Ms. Jones to solicit money has also been closed down due to fraud alarms.
Kimberly is also under radar for alleged posts on her personal Facebook page that has been recently set to private.
The mom with three of her kids is seen posing with a Confiderate flag. One son holds the American flag and the other holds the Confiderate flag.
"I've taken that down for a reason," Jones confessed later. Jones also took to Instagram in defense saying, "I love my kids: Ya'll people do not know me or my family,' Jones wrote. 'Did y'all know that my son Keaton was spit on in school, picked on by teachers, that supposed to be there for him??? I'm guessing y'all didn't because y'all wanna steady Judge me and say I'm using him for money that's false."
Activist Tareeq Nasheed also reacted in a post and called Kimberly a ' suspected racist.
The heartbreaking video showed Keaton breaking down and expressing his struggle of being a victim to bullying.
In the video, his mother Kimberly's voice can be heard in the background asking her son about his son what the bullies do to him. Keaton replied saying, "They put milk on me and put ham down my clothes, throw bread on me", he added.
Keaton also says,"They make fun of my nose. They call me ugly. They say I have no friends," Keaton further states that it is 'not okay' to take advantage of the weak and people different from you. He says, "I don't like that they do it to me. And I, for sure, don't like that they do it to other people, cause it's not okay!. People that are different don't need to be criticized about it. It's not their fault."
Kimberly Jones along with the video also wrote, "Keaton's mother Kimberly Jones wrote, "For the record, Keaton asked to do this AFTER he had me pick him up AGAIN because he was afraid to go to lunch".
