The final Kodi Krypton is filled with bug fixes, and there is no new functionality or features introduced by the developers. This could be Kodi users can expect the new stuff could be geared up for Kodi 18.0 Leia.

The final update is designed to solve some persistent stability issues in the Kodi app which could be a great preparation before Leia arrives very soon. Among the performance update it brings, the final Kodi 17.6 Krypton brings fixes connection issues with the internal web server and possible crash in controller dialogue.

In the meantime, Krypton's end of era marks a new chapter in the Kodi community as Kodi 18.0 Leia is coming up very soon. There are no concrete details with regards to the exact release date of the new version but it should come before the first quarter of 2018 ends. Kodi 17.0 Krypton first arrived in February 2017.
