South Korean actor and musician Kwak Dong Yeon has talked about his first impression of Park Bo Gum. The duo are seen together in KBS2's hit show, Moonlight Drawn By Clouds.
During an interview with a media outlet, the 19-year-old actor recalled his first meet with the 23-year-old actor. He said: "I was getting make up done in the car when the door opened and Park Bo Gum came in. After we said 'Hello,' an hour of silence followed."
He added: "Park Bo Gum has a very reserved personality. Becoming close with him was a struggle. Just trying to talk in informal speech took two hours."
Yeon also revealed what Bo Gum says when he is upset. He said: "Now that we're close, we often have deep conversations. He is kind, but when you think about it he's also human. He gets angry too. When he's extremely upset, he expresses his anger by saying, 'I'm super pissed' (uses the word jjamppong, the name of a spicy seafood noodle soup, in place of the word 'pissed')."
In a separate interview, Dong Yeon talked about Bo Gum's qualities. He said: "Before I met Park Bo-gum, I was curious what he would be like. I only knew him as a good actor from the most recent 'Reply' series. But when I met him, I learned that he's also very thorough in everything."
"I learned a lot from Park. I learned how to be truly grateful to other people. When we were on set, we unknowingly got a lot of help from the staff, but Park knew everything and was grateful for every bit of help he got. That's when I realized that he's the kind of person that can't help but be successful," he added.
"You can't hate somebody that is both respectful and grateful to other people. But he does have some slight flaws. Park is always thinking of ways to repay and thank his fans, and he always wants to engage with them, but he can't, so he has a hard time with that," Dong Yeon continued.
