This is looking like a good time for K-drama couple fans. We recently learned that Lee Sung-kyung and Nam Jo-hyuk had become a real-life couple. Now it has been revealed that Lee Dong-gun and Jo Yoon-hee, who acted opposite each other in 2016 KBS2 drama 'Laurel Tree Tailors' have legally got married and are also expecting a child. Jo Yoon-hee's agency, King Kong Entertainment also confirmed the news and has asked fans for their support.
This is a beautiful and an incredible exciting time for the couple with twice the good news. Husband and father-to-be, Lee Dong-gun wrote a letter to his fans as noted by website Soompi. He said, "I am writing this because I think all of you should be the first ones to know. Jo Yoon Hee and I, who met through a drama and became lovers, have registered our marriage and legally become husband and wife. While preparing to get married, we were blessed with a child, and we are thankfully and eagerly waiting for the child's birth.
He added that the wedding ceremony will happen after he finishes shooting a new drama project. "For now, I will be focusing on my drama 'Seven Day Queen' (tentative title), and we will hold a private wedding with our family and close acquaintances once I am done with the project. I am unsure about how this news will be received by my fans who have always supported me, but as much as I want to become a better actor and a happier person, it is my wish to receive blessings from all of you. Please look over us warmly. In order to repay the love I've received from everyone, I will work hard to become an even better actor and a great husband," Dong-sun said.
Lee Dong-gun broke-up with T-ara's Jiyeon early this year due to not having enough time with each other, the actor's agency, FNC Entertainment had revealed in February 2. Later that month, TV Report had revealed in an exclusive report that Dong-gun and Yoon-hee were dating after growing close on the sets of 'Laurel Tree tailors,' as noted by Allkpop. On February 28, Lee Dong-gun and Jo Yoon-hee's agencies confirmed this fact in a statement saying, "The two of them developed romantic feelings and began dating near the end of 'Laurel Tree Tailors.' Please support them," as noted by Soompi.
As noted by Allkpop, in an April 25 broadcast of 'Video Star,' Jo Yoon-hee was given a call from the show. Here she revealed how her affection grew for her current husband. "We heard Lee Dong Gun is very nice to you. Was there a time you were particularly moved by his actions?" the MC asked. Jo Yoon-hee replied, "It's every day, what should I do?" Yoon-hee also added, "I felt really touched when he came while I was having dinner with my radio crew. Afterward, he even visited bringing food to the staff members. I'm really thankful every time." She also said that the quality she most admired in her then boyfriend was "his generous heart."
