Actor Lee Jong Suk has been reportedly appointed as the first model for the popular tea cafe brand, Gong Cha. The 27-year-old has will be seen showcasing his skills as a tea expert next month onwards.
The brand's officials revealed that they signed an exclusive contract with Jong Suk citing his love for the aromatic drink: "We judged that Lee Jong Suk's image is a good match for our brand which takes special care to get that golden ratio for each cup of tea. Lee Jong Suk plans to be part of promotional events for 'Gong Cha' as a 'tea master,' especially as someone who enjoys a sip of tea on a regular basis," the spokesperson told Allkpop.
Jong Suk will not only represent the 10-year-old tea brand as a brand ambassador but will also exhibit his ability as a tea connoisseur. The W actor will start with the marketing and promotion from October.
Meanwhile, the Pinocchio actor will also start shooting for his new drama in October itself. Jong Suk previously revealed that he is looking forward to the preparations, and hinted that he will be gaining weight for the production: "I will enter preparations while sharing deep conversations with the director for my next production. I think filming will begin next month. I'm not sure if it will do well, but I plan to gain weight [for the role]. I hope all of you eat a lot of yummy food during the holidays," he said.
