Leicester City host Liverpool in the Monday night Premier League clash at the King Power Stadium.
The defending champions return to home after three consecutive defeats, including the Uefa Champions League loss to Sevilla last thursday, following which their title-winning manager Claudio Ranieri was sacked. Notably, the Foxes, who are struggling at the relegation zone with only 21 points from 25 matches, have won only one game in their last 10 league outings which includes defeats in their last five matches.
Caretaker manager Craig Shakespeare is in for a tough test in his first outing itself as the Reds are one of the strong title contenders despite losing steam. Islam Slimani and Leonardo Ulloa are doubtful for the Monday's clash as well with groin and thigh injuries.
On the other hand, Juergen Klopp's men ended their four match winless streak at Anfield with a comprehensive 2-0 victory over second-placed Tottenham Hotspur. However, their away run since the start of the new year has been uninspiring and the Reds lost their last outing on the road 2-0 to Hull City.
While the win against the Spurs would have given them confidence, it has been almost two weeks since they had competitive action and a loss today might hamper their momentum.
However, Klopp and his men, after some good rest, will be raring to get on the turf and close in on the gap at the top. Three points collected at the King Power Stadium will mean they will leapfrog Manchester City to the third spot.
