A toddler sitting on her father's shoulder fell from an escalator at a shopping mall in Malaysia and sustained serious injuries.
The incident happened at the Bukit Jambul Shopping Complex in Goeorge Town on Sunday, the Malay Mail reported. The victim, who is in a critical condition, is being treated at the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Penang Hospital.
The newspaper report identified the victim as Nur Akilah Amani Zuraimi Hashim.
The local police have registered a case, Northeast District police chief ACP Mior Faridalatrash Wahid said.
The incident happened after 6pm on Sunday and was caught on closed-circuit television cameras. The child, who was sitting on her father's shoulder, was seen falling three metres from the first floor to the ground floor.
