Malaysian immigration system sabotage: 5 more officers arrested

Inspector General Khalid Abu Bakar says the officers were arrested from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Five more immigration officers have been arrested by the Malaysian police in connection with the alleged sabotage of the Malaysian Immigration System.

In the Police Cooperatives Berhad annual general meeting, Inspector General of Police, Khalid Abu Bakar said the officers were arrested from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

He told the Star Online reporter: "We are still investigating. So far we have made more than 10 arrests and have seized documents from them as well".

Recently, a Malaysian was identified as the mastermind of a syndicate that sabotaged the myIMMs.

The investigations are still going on and all the suspects are being closely monitored by the Malaysia Immigration Department. Initially, 15 officers were fired and 14 more immigration officers were suspended from work.
