Overview
Manchester United have won the first Premier League game of the 2016/17 season with a 3-1 victory over AFC Bournemouth away from home. It was their first match and the Red Devils will be delighted to start the season with a victory, that too in an away fixture.
It will be the first time that United will play an official match at Old Trafford under the guidance of their new manager Jose Mourinho. The clash will also provide a chance for Paul Pogba to make his first appearance since rejoining United on a world-record deal this month.
Southampton were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw in their last fixture against Watford. It was the clash at home and the Saints new manager Claude Puel will be disappointed to start the new campaign with a point.
