BIGBANG's T.O.P got into trouble after being caught smoking and using marijuana, an illegal drug in South Korea.
According to the Seoul metropolitan police as cited by Soompi, on June 5 T.O.P will be prosecuted without detention for using marijuana. The BIGBANG's rapper admitted of smoking marijuana on two occasions during his questioning session. However, denied two other instances of smoking liquid marijuana, which will be determined in the trial.
Due to the drug scandal, police recently revealed that T.O.P is unfit for duty in the police PR department that is his current position and will transferred to a different police unit. Though it is not known where he will be transferred to it is likely that it will be located in Yangcheon District.
After the transfer, as soon as the official notice of prosecution is received he will be removed from his new station which will likely ne in Yangcheon District and will be sent home, according to the police procedure. The rapper will technically be considered a conscripted policeman.
Moreover, if T.O.P receives a sentence of over 18 months, he will be discharged from the military forcibly. In case, his sentence is shorter than 18 months or is proven not guilty, he will finish then finish the remaining of his mandatory service upon his release.
YG Entertainment tweeted T.O.P's handwritten apology stating, "My heart aches, and I am also very ashamed of myself. I will meditate and reflect on [my mistake] again and again. I will never make such an irresponsible mistake again. Once more, I apologize for not being able to apologize to everyone personally. I will deeply repent my wrongdoing. I am very ashamed of myself. I apologize," as tweeted by YG Entertainment .
