South Korean singer Minzy has opened up about disbandment of 2NE1. During an episode of KBS' Sister's Slam Dunk Season 2, the 23-year-old singer revealed she loved every second with the girl band.
Minzy said: "2NE1 is a group that received a lot of love and interest, so I think of it as my roots. I hope all the members do well. I remember the times when the members were all in the waiting room, and it would be a ruckus."
"I thought of how it would be to return to a girl group after being solo, and I think there would be a lot of fun stories and good projects because of meeting such good unnies in my life," she added.
Rumours about 2NE1's disbandment started in April 2016 after Minzy left the group, a month before her contract expired. In November 2016, YG Entertainment announced that the group, which consists of members CL, Sandara Park and Park Bom, is splitting up after seven years.
Adding on, Minzy also revealed why she agreed to a girl group project. She said: "I definitely thought about how people might view me for 'joining' a new girl group after I left one to go solo, but I viewed [this opportunity] more as a chance to meet good people in my life. I thought that it would be fun to make memories with these people."
