Miss Philippines Laura Lehmann has made it to the Top 40 contestants in the Miss World 2017 pageant. The finale of the event will be held today (November 18) at China's Sanya City Arena, at 7.30 pm SGT.
The beautiful TV host from Makati has already won in her group's Head-to-Head challenge and was also included in the Top 5 of the 'Beauty with a Purpose' segment of the pageant.
In the 'Beauty with a Purpose' challenge, Lehmann discussed her five-year plan of helping needy mothers under the care of Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center in Manila. Her aim is to support the production of more breast milk that would combat malnutrition and reduce the number of underweight babies. She has helped the center with a milk pasteurizer, mechanical breast pumps and a special freezer to preserve breast milk.
She has rightly said in her 'Beauty with a Purpose' video, "I know that as Miss World Philippines, I'm not Superwoman. I can't change the world. But maybe if we just do the little things, then at the end it makes a difference."
The last Filipino to have won the Miss World crown was Megan Young in 2013. Will Laura be able to repeat Megan's magic?
