Only nine titles out of 92 submissions have been selected by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to advance to the next level of Best Foreign Language Film Category for this year. The final five movies will be announced, along with the rest of the categories on January 23.
Oscar is known for its surprises and snubs where movies like "First They Killed My Father " failed to make it through the list. Not only Angelina Jolie's film, movies from Chile, Germany, Israel, and Lebanon are out of the nominations as well. The Academy Awards will be held on March 4 in Los Angles at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood&Televised live on ABC.
The groups moving on to next voting stage are Ruben Ostlund 's"The Square", Andrey Zvyaginstev's "Loveless" Turkish director's "Ildiko Enyedi" and so on. However, the Phase One committee has rejected movies from France twice in a row, including this year's nomination Robin Campillo's "BPM"(Beats Per Minute).

Despite winning many accolades, "BPM" could not make it to Oscars. Alain Gomis 's "Senegal's Felicite" and John Trengove's "The Wound" from South Africa made it to the short list in the name of the wildcard entry.
While "Sengel's Felicite" is a Kinshasa drama that won Grand Jury Prize in Berlin this year, South Africa's "The Wound" is based on the journey of Xolani and his team to the mountains to initiate mankind in a group of teenagers.
This year Oscar is celebrating its 90th Awards ceremony and hundreds of movie lovers and entertainment community cannot wait for this glorious ceremony to begin.
