Hallyu star Park Bo Gum has opened up about Descendants of the Sun actor Song Joong Ki. The duo are represented by the same agency, Blossom Entertainment.
During an interview with Ilgan Sports, the 23-year-old actor revealed he looks upto the 31-year-old actor, who starred together for Domino's Pizza advertisements. He said: "Comparisons aside, I'm just very thankful that I'm able to receive such a great amount of love and support. And whenever I hear that [comparison between me and Song Joong Ki], I tend to motivate myself more. It also makes me think that I need to engage in acting and also in life more honestly and smartly."
Bo Gum continued: "I personally think that I was very lacking. If I can do it again, then I want to fix the parts that I lack and do better."
Adding on, Bo Gum candidly shared the advice he received from Joong Ki. He said: "At first, I was lost and lacked confidence in my acting. Whenever I felt that way I prayed, but also turned to Joong Ki hyung for advice. Hyung then told me that I need to trust myself and do my best. We also went out to eat together and he was so supportive toward me."
Previously, Joong Ki praised Bo Gum while he attended the 2016 Seoul Drama Awards. He said: "I knew 'Moonlight Drawn By Clouds' would do well, but I didn't know that it would do this well. I'm sincerely thankful, and want to thank everyone for loving Bo Gum."
He added: "It would be great to play brothers some time, or even two guys that fight over the same girl. Regardless, I would like to work with [Park Bo Gum] in a project."
