There is no doubt that actor Park Bo-gum's fame soared sky high after hit TV series 'Reply 1988' and 'Moonlight Drawn by Clouds.' Now, here comes another feather in his hat. The actor has topped the list of most-searched entertainer in Korea in 2016. The survey was released by SK Telecom shows that Park generated 792,560 serch mentions in the last year.
The second on the list was comedian Yoo Jae-suk, with 377,018 mentions. Park Yu-chun of boy band JYJ (339,966), Song Joong-ki (274,393) and Song Hye-kyo (96,755) secured third, fourth and eighth places respectively.
However, during a recent interview Park revealed that he realized the soaring popularity of Moonlight Drawn by Clouds only after meeting his fans. "I didn't feel it while the drama was airing, but it hit me during fan meetings afterward. I was surprised to see more people than I expected. I greeted them because I was so thankful, but it became even more crowded. What I realized then was that other people could be harmed due to my actions and words," he said, accordng to Inquisitr.
According to Park's management agency Blossom Entertainment, the actor is getting three more requests to make appearances in dramas. Currently, the actor is busy doing a slew of commercials including VProve, Domino's Pizza, and, most recently, Line Pay. All eyes are on his next venture, which he is yet to announce.
Park rose to fame after the super success of 'Reply 1988' and 'Moonlight Drawn by Clouds, He has also won a number of awards this year including Most Mentioned from SBS' "Cultwo Show" Awards, Star of the Year from OSEN Awards and Best New Actor from the 5th APAN Star Awards.
And most recently, the actor won the Male Top Excellence at the 2016 KBS Drama Awards held on December 31. Park's emotional acceptance speech at the event has also become the talk of the town. "While I was working on 'Moonlight Drawn by Clouds,' I felt like I was very lacking. But I'm grateful to Song Joong Ki, who gave me advice every time," Soompi quoted the actor as saying. Song Joong Ki, on the other hand, was touched by Park's words and was in tears.
