Forbes Korea's Top 40 Power Celebrities list was revealed this week and Park Bo-Gum nabbed the top spot, taking way the number one tag from boy band EXO, who maintained the position for two years.
According to The JoongAng Daily, the Power Celebrity 40 of Forbes Korea ranked the celebrities based on their media exposure, earnings, broadcasting activities, and also professionalism.
Park Bo-Gum managed the top spot not only for the tremendous fame he achieved through his famous drama Moonlight Drawn by Clouds, but also from endorsing a number of brands in and outside South Korea.
Park Bo-Gum's dear friend Song Joong-Ki got the second spot, thanks to the successful 16-episode drama Descendants of the Sun. At the third spot is Kpop group TWICE, because of the success of their new album Twicecoaster: Lane 2. Reportedly, the said album which released on Feb. 20 had topped iTunes top 20 music album charts in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore. EXO, who was at number one for two years, dropped down to number four.
According to Yibada, Rounding out the top 10 are BTS, miss A's Bae Suzy, Song Hye-Kyo, Kim Yoo-Jung, Jo Jung-Suk and baseball pitcher Oh Seung-Hwan.
In other news, Park Bo-Gum has been offered the lead role in a film titled Seo Bok, All Kpop reported. If Moonlight Drawn by Clouds, actor accepts the offer, he will be playing Seo Bok, a cloned human who has healing powers.
The story of the film revolves around the life of a Chinese historical figure Xu Fu, but it is told from a present day perspective.
