Perrie Edwards has revealed more details about her split with Zayn Malik. The Little Mix singer had previously confirmed that the former One Direction singer broke up with her via text message.
In the girl group's new book, Our World, the 23-year-old singer talked about the couple's relationship. She wrote: "After I split with my partner, out of the blue, I had nowhere to go, which was incredibly stressful. For a while I had no idea what to do."
"I thought about renting but I've got dogs and cats, so that was no good. At the time we were promoting Black Magic, and while I was in America, things really hit me and I panicked. I realised I was homeless. I was crying every day, dreading coming back," she added.
However, her mother Debbie and her management team arranged a stay in the guest cottage of Modest! Management owner Richard Griffiths. She explained: "I told her I was stressed because I didn't know what I should do about where to live once I got back to England. She arranged ... for me to stay in Richard's guest cottage for as long as I needed, until I got on my feet again. Thank God for him. I put all my stuff in storage, took my dogs and more or less lived out of a suitcase for a good month and a half."
Edwards and Malik started dating in December 2011 after meeting on the sets of The X Factor. They got engaged in August 2013 and were reportedly planning to get married at Disneyland Paris in June 2015.
While Malik is now dating Gigi Hadid, Edwards has found love again in Our Girl star Luke Pasqualino. The pair have been rumoured to have been dating since August.
