Niantic has just announced the release of Pokemon GO v1.27.3 for iOS and v0.57.3 for Android, besides revealing the details of its upcoming Pokemon Day event for 26 February. Avid Pokemon fans would be eagerly looking forward to Monday wherein the game developer has promised to offer something special for the grand occasion of world Pokemon Day (27 February).
The Pokemon Day event is scheduled to kick off on 26 February at 1:00pm PST and run through 6 March, wherein a special Pikachu wearing a party-hat will be featured in the game to celebrate the grand occasion. It is not the first time that Niantic has introduced special versions of Pokemon in the game, as we had seen a similar during the Christmas week.
Here are the excerpts from Niantic's latest announcement:
"We've teamed up with our friends at The Pokémon Company International for their annual celebration of all things Pokémon, and we have a special treat for you this Pokémon Day! From February 26 at 1:00 P.M. PST to March 6 at 1:00 P.M. PST, special Pikachu appearing all over the world will be celebrating Pokémon Day by wearing festive party hats."
There is better news for Pokemon fans as the special Pikachu will continue to wear the party hat even after the promotional event week has ended on 6 March. However, these goodies can be availed only during this one week, wherein you need to add them to your pokedex collection before the event expires.
Meanwhile, the latest Pokemon GO update for iOS and Android seems to be a bug-fix and performance update as it does not include any big functional upgrades.
Interested users may go ahead and install the new Pokemon GO update via Google Play Store for Android and App Store for iOS as the update is expected to go live shortly.
