Prince Harry has asked for Meghan Markle's hand from her father to settle down and finally, it proved that all speculations about their future plans are absolutely true. Queen Elizabeth, the grandmother of Harry also agreed to her grandson's wish.
Although it is quite old fashioned to ask someone's parent for a marriage approval, it has to be in this way when the would-be groom is from a royal family.
After dating each other since 2016, the couple finally came to the spotlight on September 23, 2017. People have seen the couple during the Invictus Games in Toronto. However, they sat apart on the first day of the game but later they were found together, holding hands and walking to the stadium.
The speculation became stronger when a body language expert said that they might announce their engagement soon. But the confirmation came from a Buckingham Palace insider who spoke to media.
"Harry asked Meghan's father for her hand in marriage the last time he was in Canada, and Thomas was very happy to give his blessing. Thomas loves Harry, as do all of Meghan's family, and he especially loves how happy his daughter is, and how much Harry clearly adores her," the insider told HollywoodLife.com.
The insider said that the 33-year-old Prince has also asked for his grandmother's permission and she agreed to their future plans. Earlier this month the 91-year-old queen met Meghan and expressed her happiness for the couple.
It is likely that Prince Harry is ready to follow his brother's footsteps by settling down with the American actress. Now only the would-be bride Meghan needs to say 'yes' to the marriage proposal officially.
