While upcoming Korean boy band Wanna One are busy preparing for their debut next month, other trainees who didn't make it to the Top 11 of the survival TV show "Produce 101" are gearing up for their own launch and activities.
Brand New Music's two trainees, Im Young Min and Kim Dong Hyun, will be debuting as a unit under the name MXM. The two will release their first single on July 27, according to their agency.
During the final episode of "Produce 101," Im Young Min finished 15th in the Top 20 while Kim Dong Hyun got 28th place in the previous elimination round.
In addition, the two together with Park Woo Jin and Lee Dae Hwi have signed exclusive contracts with Brand New Music.
Lee Dae Hwi and Park Woo Jin will be debuting in Wanna One after winning third and sixth places, respectively, in the "Produce 101" finals.
"Trainees Lee Dae Hwi, Park Woo Jin, Im Young Jin, and Kim Dong Hyun had been signed under trainee contracts prior to 'Produce 101 Season 2.' After 'Produce 101 Season 2,' they signed exclusive contracts," Brand New Music said, according to Soompi.
On the other hand, "Produce 101" trainee Lee Woo Jin and his bandmates at The East Light have released the tracklist for their upcoming first mini album "Six Senses." The album, to be released on July 26, contains the title track "I Got You" and seven other songs.
Before this, Lee Woo Jin and Sagang released their digital single "Love Is" last July 13.
Yue Hua Entertainment's Lee Eui Woong and Ahn Hyung Seop have been selected as special hosts of the TV music program "The Show." The summer episode will be taped on July 29 and will be aired on August 1.
Wanna One, on the other hand, is taking pre-orders of their debut album, which will be released on August 7.
The album, which will be released in two versions, will have two two title tracks: "Energetic" and "Burn It Up."
