Real Madrid finished second in Group F with 12 points after the group stage fixtures, two points behind group leaders Borussia Dortmund. The Spanish capital club managed three wins, while settling for a draw in the other three games.
Zinedine Zidane guided the La Liga giants to their record 11th success in the European competition after they overcame Atletico Madrid in the last season's final. The defending champions will be looking to retain the title this time and will have to start by overcoming the Italian outfit.
Napoli finished on top of Group B ahead of Portuguese outfit Benfica. They have been in fine form since in the last few months as they are unbeaten in all competitions since their 2-1 defeat to Juventus on 30 October.
Maurizio Sarri will be hoping his side can extend their unbeaten run when they take on Real Madrid on Wednesday. PSG have managed to register a 4-0 win over Barcelona on Tuesday and Napoli will be looking to achieve a similar feat.
