The popular SBS variety show 'Running Man' in late 2016 decided to end the show and was slated to wrap up within February 2017. Though the reasons were not revealed but it was speculated that it is because of some issues with the Running Man cast members. However, SBS Korea released an official statement on January 24, stating their decision to keep the show going.
Recently, details of the upcoming Running Man episodes were out online, which came soon after the showrunners reversed their decision to cancel the long-running variety show. Reportedly, the insiders started teasing the return of cast members including Kang Gary.
The statement of reversing the decision was reportedly finalized after showrunners and former members discussed about it.
In fact, all the six former members agreed to stay on the show which includes Kim Jong Kook, Yoo Jae Suk, Song Ji Hyo, Lee Kwang Soo, Ji Suk Jin and Haha. Fans took to social media to express their excitement similar.
In fact, the "overwhelming" response from fans in the country as well as from the rest of the world made the former members come back: "The 6 members have decided to continue the Running Man series."
According to Soompi, the upcoming episode Running Man will be a "battle of superpowers." Reportedly, Yoo Jae Suk will be back as "Yoo-mes Bond". Other cast members are to play Sherlock, Thor, and Master of Time. Lee Kwang Soo will be "Kwang-vatar (Avatar)," and will go out on the streets to the tasks.
"It is said that the members of 'Running Man' were tasked to look for the secret mastermind of this week's 'Member's Week' episode and stop them from winning. While they were ripping each other's name tags off, they were shocked by a sudden appearance of a person who came with their 'Lol-lol Clones,'" Soompi reported.
