Samsung has been in news for a long time for all the speculations and rumours regarding their upcoming flagship model Samsung Galaxy S8, which is supposed to be the iPhone rival of the year. However, a rumour has recently surfaced online hinting that the company is going to unveil yet another smartphone model called Galaxy X.
The device, as reported, will not be a usual smartphone, rather this is going to be the long-rumoured foldable smartphone by the company. The South Korean smartphone maker is believed to be working on foldable smartphone technology for years now and according to several reports, it's going to be in our hands by the end of this year. The company is expected to start small production of the foldable smartphone models, sporting a flexible AMOLED display, in the fourth quarter of 2017.
The new trademark was first spotted by a Twitter user, who then posted the screenshot of the document that is showing the name.
Previously it was said that Samsung will showcase the foldable smartphone at the MWC 2017 to a handful audience in a private room in order to get feedbacks from them. It was also reported that the select audience preview would be used by Samsung as a way to predict demand from the market for the foldable displays and smartphones.
According to reports, Samsung will showcase both in-foldable and out-foldable smartphones. Samsung decided to show the new technology to other competitor companies so that they could plan to sell display and technology to other handset vendors for commercial use.
