Seo In Guk has successfully passed his medical examination to re-enlist in the military. The Reply 1997 star was discharged from the military service in March after he fractured his ankle—just four days after enlistment. The actor-singer even gifted his fans with a self-composed track as a farewell gift.
Now, the actor's agency Jellyfish Entertainment has released an official statement confirming that Guk has cleared his medical re-examination and will be joining the service soon. "He had a medical reevaluation on April 27, but he was told that he also needs a more thorough evaluation. He completed the reexamination on June 5 at the Central Physical Examination Center of Military Manpower Administration. He will be notified of the results in two to three weeks, and we will release the details then through an official statement," it stated (as translated by Soompi).
Recently, Seo lent his voice for the first part of 'Tomorrow With You' OST titled "Flower." This tvN drama starred actor Lee Jae Hoon and actress Shin Min Ah in the lead. All K Pop opined, "Written and composed by the actor himself, this will also be Seo In Guk's first time singing for a drama in which he isn't starring in. "Flower" is filled with a beautiful melody highlighting Seo In Guk's soft voice."
Early this year, tvN's reality show "The List 2017" ranked 29-year-old entertainer as the number one role model after he made true on his promise during the talent reality show when he said, "If I win, I will purchase a shop for my mother with my prize money." Even in his earlier interview, Seo has revealed the difficulties that his mother went through to make him a star.
Seo launched his singing career after winning the talent reality show Superstar K in 2009, and made his acting breakthrough in tvN's Reply 1997. Seo's portrayal of a teenage boy in unrequited love with his childhood best friend won praise from both audiences and critics. Since then, he has starred in television series High School King of Savvy, 38 Revenue Collection Unit, and Shopaholic Louis.
