When it comes to Netflix, well the list for binge-watching a series or framing an excuse for staying glued to the screen is endless. From Stranger Things to House Of Cards or The Crown to Narcos and Daredevil, the list has no end to it.
But, what if the world's leading entertainment service collaborates with Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan? Netflix in collaboration with the Bollywood Mogul might just crash the system down!
On November 17, Netflix Inc., in an official press release, announced a new multilingual Netflix original series, based on young Indian author Bilal Siddiqi's Bard of Blood. The icing on the cake? Well, Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment is all set to join hands with Netflix in this new venture.
"We have always tried to create world class content and entertainment from India. Netflix has shown that Indian stories have a global audience and we would love to use this platform and its reach to tell more stories," Shah Rukh Khan stated during the official press release.
"We believe in the global vision of Red Chillies to create groundbreaking content out of India. It's exciting to deepen our relationship with Red Chillies and expand our slate of originals in India," said Reed Hastings, Netflix Founder and CEO.
What is the story all about?
This multilingual series will portray the life of an expelled spy, Kabir Anand. The events take place in the Indian subcontinent. Kabir, who is a Shakespeare professor in Panchgani, will take up the responsibility of saving his country and his long-lost love. It will be an amalgamation of combat skills, intellect and personal crisis in Kabir's life that will force him to avenge his much dreaded past and face his worst enemies. For Kabir, it's a race against time.
If it's Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, well nothing else matters. However, keeping preferences aside, the series might be a never seen before undertaking, for all web series lovers in India and across the globe. With on-location shootings, the series will have well-formulated action sequences and characters will be speaking in Hindi, Urdu, English and other languages, reports the press release.
Now the question is, will Shah Rukh Khan play the lead in the Netflix original series Bard of Blood? The wait to confirm the same seems infinite.
