Sherlock Season 4 is on its way and it will premiere next year. Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock and Martin Freeman's John Watson will be back along with a new villain who will be introduced in the upcoming season. Season 4 will bring new challenges and unravel mysteries, promised the cast.
Reportedly, lots of new mysteries involved in the new season and season 4 will go to a darker place. Sherlock in this season will try and solve cases which are comparatively harder than the earlier seasons and he would possibly save the people he really cares about.
Since there will be many mysteries involved, cast and makers of Sherlock dropped some clues for the viewers.
Sherlock Season 4: Spoilers
According to Digital Spy, Benedict Cumberbatch was kind enough to drop some clues and details about the upcoming season. According to Benedict, season 4 will be in a very dark place mentally and if he were to face a psychiatrist, anyone would be able to deduce that he is in a lot of trouble.
Cumberbatch further added that in the upcoming season, the event will be are far bigger than what was seen till date. Sherlock writer Steven Moffat added that Sherlock season 4 would be a very rough and tough journey for Sherlock and John and it is like traveling to hell and back.
The upcoming season's trailer also hinted that the new villain would be even greater than Moriarty himself.
Sherlock Season 4: The Main Villain
According to reports, Martin Freeman said that Toby Jones' character Culverton Smith will give Moriarty a tough competition. He believes that this character is creepier than the villain of the perivious season.
Sherlock's co-writer Mark Gatiss said that this time it will be a very different show. Fans are eagerly waiting to know what events will Sherlock Season 4 unfold which start airing on January 1, 2017.
