SHinee's Onew has praised his Descendants of the Sun co-star Song Joong Ki. The 30-year-old actor's words of encouragement and motivation reportedly helped the singer turned actor, whose real name is Lee Jin-ki, to overcome his tension during the shoot.
The 26-year-old actor, who played a cleanliness obsessed medical student in the hit series, stated that the hallyu star made him feel relaxed during a hard phase, after the show's pilot went live. The Moonlight singer revealed: "I was completely edited out of the show's pilot episode. It was my first solid acting gig on screen, so I was pretty disappointed."
He added: "Then, I received a phone call from Song Joong-ki telling me that he had gone through the same experience before. He comforted me by saying that everything will go uphill from then on and we as actors should try to view the work from the audience's perspective."
Onew shared the heartwarming tale during his appearance on KBS2 variety show, Our Neighborhood Arts and Physical Education, Kpopherald reported. The leader of the boy band seemed quite affectionate towards Joong Ki and kept praising him for his dedication and achievements.
