Singapore: 3 women injured in accident along PIE

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) alerted the commuters in a tweet and asked them to avoid the first two lanes of the PIE before the Paya Lebar exit.

At least three women were injured due to an accident along the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) on Friday involving multiple vehicles. The authorities said that the wounded people were all taken conscious to Raffles Hospital for further treatment.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that it was informed about the incident, which took place along the stretch before Paya Lebar exit towards Tuas, at around 10.35 am. Reports said that heavy traffic jam along the expressway with congestion stretching up to the Bedok North Avenue 3 exit.

The police said that five cars were involved in the accident and out of those cars, two were taxis. The injured people included a 27-year-old taxi passenger and two others, aged 27 and 31.

After almost one hour of the accident, the live camera footage of Bedok North and Eunos flyover along the PIE showed that the stretch was still heavily congested.
