An elderly woman died in Singapore on Sunday after a lorry mowed her down as she was walking near a busy junction in the city.
The accident happened at the junction of Choa Chu Kang Street 51 and Choa Chu Kang North 5 at about 11.55am, as reported by The Straits Times. The 67-year-old woman died on the spot.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) also confirmed the incident and sent one fire engine, a Red Rhino, one ambulance and one support vehicle to the scene, as reported by the news portal.
Singapore police have also arrested the 30-year-old lorry driver and ordered an investigation into the matter.
