Almost every couple in a loving relationship have nicknames for each other. South Korea's most famous celebrity couple, Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo are no different in this matter.
Website Koreaboo notes that during an interview with SBS's Hanbam, Song Joong-ki revealed the nickname that the couple call each other by. "We're just like any other couple in love. We call each other honey (자기야 / jakiya)," Song Joong-ki said.
This is a very common nickname for couples but is also perfect for the SongSong couple as both of them appear to have very sweet personalities. However, once they become husband and wife, the nickname might change. "Since we're getting married soon, we'll probably think more seriously on what to call each other," the actor said.
Song Joong-ki also revealed that Song Hye-kyo is a calm and thoughtful person, and she is a good influence on him and teaches him many things by virtue of being more experienced in life due to being older and having more work experience.
The 'Descendants of the Sun' actor also revealed how the two of them would like to lead more environmentally conscious lives by saying, "We talked about how we should live our lives by caring for our surrounding. We will work to live with that kind of life."
As for supporters of SongSong couple, Song Joong-ki said, "Fans are congratulating us as well as worrying for us. And we sincerely thank those who support us. We'll work hard and repay them with good work."
Song Joong-ki concluded by saying, "We will live a happy life while doing good deeds. Thank you so much once again," as noted by website Allkpop.
Meanwhile, on 11 July, MBC's 'Real Story Eye' revealed details of the secret engagement party of the SongSong couple in a popular pub in Japan. Upon visiting the pub, the staff of 'Real Story Eye' was told by an employee that Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo celebrated their engagement with other people, as noted by Allkpop.
As per the pub employee, "[The two people] came with about 30 staff members. I think it was some kind of engagement party. I heard it was like that type of setting. The man had probably proposed to the woman." Another employee of the pub recalled, "After a flower bouquet was presented to the woman, I heard people cheering 'Woah.'"
Dispatch had already provided photos of the event from the outside, which was corroborated by another employee of the pub who pointed out, "They were caught on photo in front of the street lamp," noted Koreaboo.
Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo are all set to tie the knot this October 31.
